Yvonne Schluter, 86, of Las Cruces, New Mexico, passed away Sunday, May 26, 2024 in Las Cruces. Yvonne was the daughter of William Wesley Ent Sr. and Florence Rebecca Moore Ent. She had an older brother, William Wesley Ent Jr (Kathryn). William preceded Yvonne in death in 2003. Yvonne is survived by a few family members, including nephews Lloyd Boatright, Mark Boatright and a niece, Cherie Ent. Yvonne married Eric Schluter in 1962. They divorced in 1984.

Yvonne graduated from Savannah HIgh School in 1956. She was class salutatorian. Yvonne received a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education from Central Missouri State in 1960 and a Master of Arts in Teaching Degree from New Mexico State University in Las Cruces in 1975. She taught Physical Education classes for several years. Prior to her retirement she also worked in a real estate office and taught real estate classes.

Yvonne was very athletic and loved to play tennis. She donated most of her trophies to be distributed as prizes to a girls tennis team. Yvonne was a pleasant and intelligent woman. She loved Las Cruces and the Organ Mountains. She was a Christian. When Yvonne was younger, she was a member of the Methodist church in Savannah. She was active in the church MYF group.

Graveside services will be 1:00pm Tuesday, June 4, 2024 at Savannah Cemetery in Savannah, MO. Arrangements are under the direction of Breit-Hawkins Funeral Home, Savannah
