Wilma May Heller, St. Joseph, MO passed away Sunday, May 22, 2016 at Carriage Square in St. Joseph. She was born October 21, 1924 in Akron, Colorado the daughter of Alvia & Laura (Whitley) Cogdill. She Married Dwight Heller in 1953 and he preceded her in death in 2003.
Wilma always had a smile on her face and a quick wit about her. She enjoyed walking in her neighborhood with her friends. She could do anything and believed in hard work. Her and Dwight farmed in Fillmore, MO later moving to California were they operated poultry farms until retiring to San Angelo, TX.
Wilma is survived by one son, Gary & Joan Shaw of St. Joseph; two sisters, Helen Brown of St. Joseph and Ruby Nunnery of Huntsville, Alabama; one granddaughter, Jamie Shaw of Reno, Nevada and four great-grandchildren, Breonna Dysart, Kimberly Clements, Addison Sollars, and Elianna Abraham.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, granddaughter, Jody Shaw, three brothers, Oliver, Paul, and Alva Cogdill and one sister, Alpha Crocket.
A graveside Celebration of Life will be held 10:00 AM Thursday, May 26, 2016 at Fillmore Cemetery in Fillmore, MO. Visitation and family receiving hours will be Wednesday, May 25, 2016 from 6:00PM - 8:00PM at Breit-Hawkins Funeral Home in Savannah, MO. Burial will be in Fillmore Cemetery, Fillmore, MO. Memorial donations may be made to Crossroads Hospice of Independence, MO.
