William John
Shank
Mar 13, 1957 — Feb 9, 2021
Savannah
William John Shank, 63, Savannah, Missouri passed from this life on Tuesday, February 9th, 2021 at his home in Savannah. He was born on March 13th, 1957 in Buffalo, New York to William Ralph and Ellamarie (Anderson) Shank. William is survived by his wife Bridgit (Serowski) Shank; Sons, Brian (Trinity) Shank of St. Joseph, MO, Randy (Kristin) Shank of Angola, NY, Brandon Shank of Kansas City, MO; Sisters, Donna Sorensen of Williamsville, NY, Karen (Rich) Bonsignore of Big Flats, NY; Grandchildren, Abigail, Randy, Sarah, Samantha, Katelyn, Dominick, Dillion, Tyler, Lillian, and Quinlynn. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Bill's preteen years were full of adventure. He had learned to fly small engine airplanes at his father's airport in Akron, New York. His longing for adventure would lead to his father purchasing Bill's first motorcycle. With it, he had found a life-long joy that lead to years of enjoyment riding across the United States. Whether by plane, motorcycle, or car, Bill loved to travel and see the world. It was during retirement that he would find a new passion visiting residents at two local nursing homes. Once a month he would spend his day playing games and visiting with them. Bill's love for the Lord would drive him in his pursuit to blanket the residents in reassurance that each were deeply loved by him and the Lord.
Bill's attention to detail, demand for excellence, and intense desire to provide the very best life for his family led him to have many successes in his professional life. His unmatched work ethic allowed him to establish his presence as a major contributor throughout various industries. However, it was the automotive industry where Bill found his niche. As a result, he would dedicate nearly 25 years in the field, allowing him to help tens of thousands of people. Along the way, he would be recognized for his outstanding performance through trips that allowed him and his wife to travel all around the United States. Over the years, he would build a reputation as being an honest and trustworthy businessman, who cared deeply for each person he helped. Bill was a Finance Director at Jim Ball Buick Pontiac GMC Cadillac in Orchard Park, New York. His experience in this field would lead to a partnership with Auto Medics, an automotive dealership, in St. Joseph, Missouri, where he and his family would relocate to in 2005. Years later, the opportunity would arise and Bill would accept a position as Finance Director over the Rolling Hills Auto Plaza in St. Joseph. The last years of his professional career would be spent with Airport Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram in Platte City, Missouri. Bill would eventually retire from his position as General Sales Manager in March of 2019.
