Wayne R. Steiner, 86, of St. Joseph, MO went to be with the Lord on Friday, December 15, 2017 at his home with his family by his side in St. Joseph, MO. He was born May 20, 1931 in Amity, MO to Ernest & Jennie (Hlavac) Steiner, one of 10 children. He married Shirley in Albany, MO on May 27, 1955 sharing 62 years of marriage and she survives of the home.
Wayne left home at a young age to live with and work for Donald Spiking family in King City, MO until he left to serve in the Korean War. Sgt. Wayne Steiner received the Bronze star for bravery.
Wayne loved his family and they always came first. He enjoyed, playing cards, fishing with his son, restoring old clocks, classical music, and he liked to build anything. Wayne retired from Armours in his early fifty's. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Savannah.
He is survived by his wife, son, Mark (Lisa) Steiner, two daughters Connie (Gerald) Washburn of Sierra Madre, CA, Serena Steiner of Valley Village CA; two brothers, Bill Steiner of Torrance, CA, and Franklin (Lois) Steiner of Phoenix, AZ. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and three sisters.
Visitation to be held Wednesday, December 20th, from 9 AM to 10 AM at First Baptist Church Savannah, MO. Celebration of Life will be Wednesday, December 20th at
10 AM at First Baptist Church Savannah, MO. Burial will follow at Grandview Cemetery in Albany, MO. Memorial donations may be made to First Baptist Church in Savannah.
