Wayne Dean Hurst, 73, of Savannah, MO passed away on Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph, MO. He was born on October 4, 1943 in Holt County, MO to Delmar & Francis (Todd) Hurst. He married Juanita Grishow on July 3, 1963 in Fillmore, MO and she preceded him in death in 2011.
Wayne Dean enjoyed his garden, fishing, mushroom hunting and the great outdoors. He loved his family and enjoyed going to all the grandkids sporting events.
Survivors include one son, Michael & Cathy Hurst of St. Joseph; one daughter, Dana & Phil Rogers of Savannah; three brothers, Ronnie & Verletta Hurst of Oregon, MO, Donnie & Walta Hurst of St. Joseph, and Rick Hurst of Oregon; five grandchildren, Megan Hurst, Ariel & Jake Rumpf, Camden Hurst, Kaitlin Rogers, and Luke Rogers; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and one infant son, Tony Dean Hurst.
Celebration of Life will be 2:00PM Saturday, February 4, 2017 at Breit-Hawkins Funeral Home in Savannah. Visitation and family receiving hours will be Friday, February 3, 2017 from 6:00PM - 8:00PM at Breit-Hawkins Funeral Home. Burial and Military Honors will follow in Fillmore Cemetery, Fillmore MO. Memorial contributions can be made to Andrew County Senior Center, Savannah MO.
