Vivian M. Smith, 94, Savannah, MO, passed away Monday, November 18, 2019 at LaVerna Village Nursing Home in Savannah, MO. She was born January 7, 1925 in Savannah, MO to John Everett and Goldie Marie (McCoppin) Powell.  She married Ralph Randall Smith on May 28, 1948 in Savannah.  They were married 53 years till Ralph passed away November 21, 2001.

Vivian graduated Savannah high School in 1943 and attended Platt Secretarial School. She was a 65+ member of the Savannah United Methodist Church.  She was a 70+ year member and past Worthy Matron of Savannah Chapter #233 Order of the Eastern Star. A charter member of the John Griffith Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, and was a member of the Andrew County Museum.

She is survived by her sister-in-law, Jane Powell of Savannah, and Marilyn Powell of Savannah; nieces, Nancy (Bob) Hueser of Savannah, Tana Lance of St. Joseph; nephew, Jon F. (June) Powell of Green Valley, AZ; and several great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brothers, Everett Powell, Robert E. Powell, and William Powell; sister-in-law, Betty E. Powell; four half-sisters, Elizabeth Strohl, Ursula Bishop, Julia Walker, and Wilda Crafton; half-brother, Horace Powell and nephew, Terry Powell.

Family visitation and receiving hour will be Saturday, November 23, 2019 from 10:00 am – 11:00 am at Breit-Hawkins Funeral Home Savannah, MO. Funeral services will be 11:00 am Saturday, November 23, 2019 at Breit-Hawkins Funeral Home Savannah, MO.  Burial will be in Savannah Cemetery, Savannah, MO. Memorials may be given to Savannah United Methodist Church or The American Cancer Society.
