Thelma "June" Vaughn 79, St. Joseph, MO passed from this life on Wednesday, June 24, 2015 at her home in St. Joseph with all of her nine loving children at her side. She was born in Stanberry, MO to Emmitt Franklin Hatheway Jr. & Nora Marie McNeese on June 25, 1935. In 1952 she married Gerald F. Vaughn in St. Joseph and he preceded her in death on April 24, 1991.
June was a classy lady who enjoyed getting ready and going dancing. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, and cooking for her family. She sold Avon for many years and won numerous awards. She owned This and That Shop and did wedding flowers and setups for many people. She loved her family and will be missed dearly by them.
She is survived by three sons; Tony (Debbie) Vaughn, Bill Vaughn Sr., and Aric (Deann) Vaughn all of St. Joseph; six daughters, Linda Rowlett of Independence, MO, Pam Ringot of Elwood, KS, Ruth (Chuck) Groce of St. Joseph, Rita Weishaar of Topeka, KS, Geraldene Vaughn of St. Joseph, and Angela Embrey of St. Joseph; 24 grandchildren, and 30 great-grandchildren with numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, four brothers, and five sisters.
Celebration of Life will be 10 AM Monday, June 29, 2015 atGladden - Stamey Funeral Home; St. Joseph, MO. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Public visitation and family receiving hours will be 2 to 4 PM Sunday, June 28, 2015 at Gladden - Stamey Funeral Home, St. Joseph, MO. In Lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Hands of Hope Hospice.
