Shirley Jean Briner, of Savannah, MO passed away Monday, August 26, 2019 at Centerpoint Medical Center in Independence, MO.  She was born March 10, 1939 in Galt, MO to Nova O. & Ethel (Meeker) Glidewell. She and Marvin E. Briner were united in holy matrimony on August 9, 1957 at Burns Memorial Baptist Church and he preceded her in death in 1999.

Shirley's family was everything to her. She was always there to lend a hand and did not know a stranger. Shirley worked and later retired from LaVerna Village Nursing Home and was always an advocate for the residents' comfort and care.

Survivors include her children; Terry (Monica) Briner, Christina (Tracy) Rose, Tammy Davis (Mark Cosgrove), Janelle Briner; grandchildren; Nathaniel Briner, Natasha Rose, Nick Briner (Dina), Neil Briner (Cara), Zach Davis (Nikki), Trenton Rose, Brittany Davis (Jeff), Justin Briner (Amber), Shayla Briner; brother, Robert Glidewell; sister, Louise Briner; 10 great grandchildren, and all who considered her "Grandma". She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, infant daughter; great-granddaughter; son, Timothy Mark Briner; and numerous siblings.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Breit-Hawkins Funeral Home, Savannah, MO on Saturday, August 31, 2019 at 10:00am. Family will receive visitors at Breit-Hawkins Funeral Home on Friday, August 30, 2019 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. Burial will follow in Lower-Neely Cemetery in Rosendale, MO.  Memorial contributions can be made to the St. Joseph Animal Shelter.
