Sharon Kay Karr, 76, of Union Star, MO went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at a local hospital in St. Joseph, MO. She was born August 18, 1941 in St. Joseph, MO to Melvin & Maxine (Mollus) Zagrodzky. She married Merrill Karr in St. Joseph on June 24, 1960. They were married 57 years and he survives of the home.
Sharon always had a smile on her face and never met a stranger. She worked her whole career in the banking industry including 21 years at Commerce Bank in St. Joseph. She liked traveling, antiques, and collecting angels. Her family was her pride and joy especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, two sons; Craig Karr of St. Joseph and Kevin (Tammy) Karr of Union Star; daughter, Kitty Karr of St. Joseph; eight grandchildren; sister, Judy Johnson of Hot Springs, AR. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation to be held Friday, January 12th, from 5 PM to 8 PM at Breit-Hawkins Funeral Home Savannah, MO. Celebration of Life will be Saturday, January 13th at 11 AM at Breit-Hawkins Funeral Home Savannah, MO. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in St. Joseph, MO. In honor of her being a breast cancer survivor for five years, please make memorial donations to Patient Assistance Fund at Mosaic Life Cancer Center.
