Shannon L. Schildknecht, 52, of St. Joseph passed away Sunday June 9, 2025 at a local hospital in St. Joseph.  He was born in St. Joseph, MO on June 10, 1972 to John & Shirley (Smith) Schildknecht.

Shannon enjoyed good country music including George Straight and Randy Travis. He loved eating steak of any kind, morel mushrooms, Lays potato chips and fried tenderloins sandwiches from the Cabana Grill and he loved Pepsi just like his Mom!

He loved his long-time care givers, his Dad, and his family. He also loved Andy Griffith and kidding around. He did not love his seizures which ended up ending his life . We will miss him .

Survivors include his father, John Schildknecht of Savannah, MO; siblings, Randall (Brenda) Schildknecht of Amazonia, MO, Sheila (Chuck) Thorburn of Savannah, MO, Mark (Karen) Schildknecht of Savannah, MO, and Kelli (Allen) Latham of Kansas City, KS; thirteen nieces & nephews, seven great nieces & nephews, and one great-great niece.  He was preceded in death by his mother Shirley Schildknecht in 2003.

Visitation and family receiving hour will be 1:00pm – 2:00pm Thursday June 12, 2025 at First Baptist Church, Savannah, MO.  Funeral services will be 2:00pm Thursday June 12, 2025 at First Baptist Church.  Burial will follow at Savannah Cemetery, Savannah, MO.  Breit-Hawkins Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.
