Ronald William Puett, 67, of St. Joseph, MO passed away Wednesday, November 28, 2018, in Fairfield, IA surrounded by friends. Ron was born August 24, 1951 in St. Joseph, MO, the oldest of 7 children. His parents were Robert William Puett and Betty (Roberts) Puett.
Ron graduated from Lafayette High School, St. Joseph, MO, in 1969. He enlisted in the United States Navy, May, 1970. He served onboard the USS IWO JIMA (LPH 2) and USS HERMITAGE (LSD 34) during the Vietnam War, being Honorably Discharged May, 1974. After returning to St. Joseph, he began work at Seitz Company until 1978. In 1978 he worked for Bell Helicopter in Esfahan, Iran. For a few years, he assisted his father in law in the Dawn, MO area. In 1984 he began his machinist work with Silgan Container, St. Joseph, MO until his retirement in 2016.
Ron is survived by his Significant Other, Sharon Samuelson James of Fairfield, IA, children Brandon William Puett, Agency, MO, Spencer Hughes Puett, Virginia Beach, VA, and Sarah Elizabeth Puett, Denver, CO, and grandchildren, Lexi Puett, Agency, MO, and August Arthur Puett, Virginia Beach, VA, and 5 siblings. Ron was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Roger Lane Puett.
Ron loved the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting, skiing, cars and motorcycles.
Visitation and family receiving hours will be Saturday, December 1, 2018 from 4:00pm - 6:00pm at Breit-Hawkins Funeral Home in Savannah. Funeral Services will be 10:00am, Sunday, December 2, 2018 at Breit-Hawkins Funeral Home in Savannah. Burial will follow at the Fillmore Cemetery, Fillmore, MO. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to the Alzheimer's Association, care of Breit-Hawkins Funeral Home, 1010 Hwy 71 South Savannah, MO 64485.
Following the burial, family and friends are welcome to gather at Whiskey Creek, 4016 Frederick Ave. St. Joseph, MO to celebrate Ron's life.
