Robert James Wade, 85 passed away on July 17, 2022 in Savannah, Missouri. He was born on September 25, 1936 to Ressie and Velma (Gressly) Wade.  On January 1, 1961 he married Barbara Jane Payne in Graham, Missouri.  She preceded him in death in 2015.

Robert graduated from Savannah High School in 1954 and went on to graduate from Northwest Missouri State University in 1958 with a Bachelors degree in agriculture.

After College he joined the Army Reserve in St. Joseph, Missouri.  He was honorably discharged in 1964, at the time he was a Battalion Motor Sergeant.  During his service he received several outstanding achievement awards.

Robert sold insurance all his life, working many years for Farm Bureau and then as an independent agent with numerous companies.  His real passion lied with his farm, where he raised Polled Hereford Cattle.  He was very active within the business. He was President of the Iowa, Nebraska, and Missouri Polled Hereford Association.  In 1965 he helped start the Pony Express Hereford Sale.  He enjoyed teaching his daughters how to show cattle and he took them around the nation doing so.

Robert loved his community and was active with the Graham Lions Club, Savannah VFW, Savannah Senior Center, Missouri Polled Hereford Association and the Graham United Methodist Church.

Robert never knew a stranger and he enjoyed spending time with loved ones as well as his friends.  He also enjoyed trout fishing, camping, cattle sales/shows, working on the farm and attending local sporting events.

Robert is preceded in death by his parents, wife, sister and grandchild.

Surviving: Debbie Keskeaw (Jamie); Cynthia Taylor; Tracy Hofer (Steve); five grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and four godchildren.

He was full of life, love and good humor.  He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
