Richard E. Dick, 84, of Savannah, MO passed away at his home surrounded by his family on Friday, June 28, 2024. He was born in Forbes, MO on December 30, 1939 to William "Bill" & Viola (Reynolds) Dick. He married Carolyn Armagost at the First Christian Church in Savannah on November 23, 1958 and she preceded him in death in 2020.
Richard was known for his caring and generous spirit, deeply committed to both his family and church community. He was always doing for others, lending a hand whenever needed. He cherished moments spent with loved ones, whether traveling, fishing, deer hunting, tending to his farm, or exploring the wonders of the outdoors. After a dedicated career spanning 37 years with St. Joseph Light & Power, he retired in 2000.
Survivors include his, son, Bill Dick of St. Joseph; daughter, Angela (Mike) Gromowski of St. Joseph; grandchildren, Michael (Alicia) Gromowski, Stephanie (Tyler) Rinehart, William Richard (Andrea Green) Gromowski, and Michelle (Javier) Quispe; great-grandchildren, Jacob and Joslynne Gromowski, Maddie Bennett, Jackson, Karlee, and Brynnlee Rinehart, Xavier, Clarke, and Logan Quispe; as well as numerous step-grandchildren, step-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other family. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, brothers Paul and Raymond, sisters Lela Bisig and Vivian Wertin and his great-grandson Aiden Gromowski.
Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation from 6:00pm to 8:00pm on Tuesday, July 2, 2024, at Breit-Hawkins Funeral Home in Savannah, MO. A funeral service will be held at 2:00pm on Wednesday, July 3, 2024, also at Breit-Hawkins Funeral Home. Burial will follow funeral services at Savannah Cemetery, Savannah, MO. Memorial contributions can be made to First Christian Church at 511 W. Market St., Savannah, MO 64485 or Andrew County Senior Center at 12737 State Highway E., Savannah, MO 64485.
