Paul Menard, 90, of Savannah, passed away Friday, August 17, 2018 at Cameron Regional Hospital. He was born March 9, 1928 to Paul H. & Genevieve (Fortin) Menard in Woodbury County, Iowa. He married Gertrude Oliver on June 26, 1954 in St. Joseph, MO and she preceded him in death on November 23, 2001.
Paul was a longtime member of St. Rose of Lima Parish and belonged to the Knights of Columbus Council 6244. Paul was a 64 year member of I.U.O.E. Local 101 and the American Legion Post 287.
His volunteer activities included working on projects for church, delivering Meals on Wheels and involvement in RSVP.
He is survived by three sons, Mark Menard and Bill Menard both of Savannah and Larry Menard of Jefferson City; two daughters, Patty Kendall of Lincoln, NE and Paula (Richard) Scott of Savannah; eight grandchildren, Kimberly (Mark) Thomas, Courtney Menard, Jacob Scott, Noel Menard, Nicholas (Dana) Menard, Nathan Scott, Paul Menard, and Sadie Menard; five great-grandchildren, Cheyenne, Cole, Oliver, Ben, Lila Mae. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, two sisters, Gloria Riccardi and Francis Stoneking.
Visitation and family receiving hours will be Friday, August 24, 2018 from 6:00pm - 8:00pm with Rosary at 7:00pm at Breit-Hawkins Funeral Home in Savannah. Funeral Services will be Saturday, August 25, 2018 at 10:00am at St. Rosa Lima Catholic Church in Savannah. Burial will be in Savannah Cemetery, Savannah, MO. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Rose Parish, American Legion Post 284 or Veterans Assistance League.
