Otis R. Uehlin, 92, of Amazonia, MO, passed away surrounded by his family on Monday, August 31, 2026. He was born on January 4, 1934, in Forbes, MO to Alonzo & Edna (Carver) Uehlin. He married Mildred Moore on November 29, 1952, and she preceded him in death in 2020. He was also preceded in death by his two sons, Rick Uehlin and Ron Uehlin.
Otis spent his life farming alongside his sons. He was known for his hard work ethic and dedicated his life to the family farm. He believed in staying busy and getting the job done but he also knew how to enjoy life.
Otis loved spending time on the Missouri River, especially boating and enjoying the outdoors. He owned and operated the Island Marina near Amazonia for many years which combined his love of the river with his hardworking nature. Otis had a great sense of humor and was, without a doubt, one ornery man. That ornery spirit was just part of what made him Otis and brought countless laughs and memories to those who knew and loved him.
Above all, Otis loved his family. His greatest joy came from the time he spent with his children, grandchildren, great and great-great grandchildren. He leaves behind a lifetime of memories (some appropriate, some not) stories and lessons that will continue to be shared by all who loved him. He is survived by his children, Stephen (Julie) Uehlin, John (Kelly) Uehlin, Nancy Uehlin, all of Amazonia, MO and Angie Uehlin of Lago Vista, TX; grandchildren, Stephanie Teaney, Eric (Krisma) Uehlin, Heathor (Reggie) Chandler, Mark (Candice) Uehlin, Erica (Jeff) Mullins, Scott (Brook) Uehlin, Kasey (Jarrod) Stasser, Kylee (Steve) Lingholm, Rikki (Ryan) Meek, Miles Hutchison, and Mason Hutchison; 16 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great grandchild. Funeral Services will be 10:00am, Friday, September 4, 2026 at Breit Hawkins
Funeral Home in Savannah, MO. Visitation and family receiving hours will be from 5:00pm - 7:00pm, Thursday, September 3, 2026 at Breit-Hawkins Funeral Home in Savannah, MO. Burial will be at St. Johns Cemetery in Amazonia, MO.
