Orville Myers 76, St. Joseph, MO passed away Nov. 18, 2015 at St. Joseph Chateau in St. Joseph. He was born February 26, 1939 in Sioux City, IA to Francis Donald and Katherine Constance Bateman (Miller). He was adopted and raised by his loving Aunt Leola (Le) Mae Myers and Orville William Myers, Sr.

He served his country proudly on the USS Shangri La in the United States Navy. He married Helen Dorothy Christian in Bremerton Washington and fathered six children. Orville enjoyed fishing, reading, writing, poetry, and gardening. He loved music and was a beautiful singer.

Survivors include two sons, Micheal J. Myers of Telluride CO, and Bradford A. Myers of Longmont CO; four daughters, Nancy Lee Hart of Littleton, CO, Lisa Marie Sparks of Littleton, CO, Jeanie Myers of Firestone, CO, and Erica Ann Myers of Lawrence, KS; eight grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Orville will be cremated and private family services will be at a later date in Colorado. Arrangements entrusted to Gladden-Stamey Funeral Home, St. Joseph.
