Merle J. McCoy, 93, of St. Joseph, MO passed away on Monday, November 28, 2016 at Highland Health Care in Highland, KS. She was born on September 12, 1923 in Sabetha, KS to Elmer & Rosella (Kolash) Cornell. She married Jack A. McCoy July 11, 1942 in St. Joseph, MO and they were married for 62 years until Jacks passing in 2005.
She was in the childcare business because she loved children. She enjoyed cooking for her family and all the people at Calvary Baptist Church.
Survivors include one daughter-in-law, Darlene Frazer of St. Joseph; three Grandchildren, Kim (Dennis) Wisler of Wathena, KS, Teresa Gillpatrick of St. Joseph, and Jack Jr. (Susie) McCoy of St. Joseph; six great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren with one on the way. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and one son, Jack McCoy Sr.
Funeral Services will be 11:00AM Thursday, December 1, 2016 at Gladden-Stamey Funeral Home in St. Joseph. Visitation and family receiving hours will be Thursday, December 1, 2016 from 10:00AM to 11:00AM at Gladden-Stamey Funeral Home in St. Joseph, MO. Burial will be in Ashland Cemetery later in St. Joseph. Memorial contributions can be made to The American Alzheimer's Association.
