Mary F. Kendall, 86, of St. Joseph, MO passed away on Tuesday, December 26, 2017 at a local health care facility. She was born March 2, 1931 in St. Joseph, MO to Elmer & Margie (Davis) DeSpain. She married Ben Kendall in Clarinda, IA on April 17, 1954 and he preceded her in death on February 20, 1994.
Mary was a member of VFW Post 1668, Women's Auxiliary MOCA #19, and The American Legion Post 359. Mary loved her family and the many dinners they shared together. All her grandkids had their favorite dish. Mary's door was always open to anyone.
She is survived by her three sons, Benji (Teri) Kendall of Joplin, MO, Dennis Kendall and Paula Stahl of St. Joseph, and Steve "Chop" (Shelly) Kendall of St. Joseph; two daughters, Reba (Shane) Hebert of St. Joseph and Pam (Donald) Jumps of Savannah; 11 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister, Lavina McCollum and grandson, Rex Jumps.
Celebration of Life will be Friday, December 29th at 2:00 PM at Gladden-Stamey Funeral Home, St. Joseph, MO. Visitation will be held Friday, December 29th from 1:00-2:00PM at Gladden-Stamey Funeral Home. Memorial donations may be made to The American Cancer Society.
