Mary Ruth(Espey)Clevenger, 98, Savannah, Missouri, passed away at her homeon October 19, 2014.

Mary Ruthwas born on December 15, 1915 in Nodaway County to William E. and Grace(Shipps)Espey. Mary Ruthwasunited in marriage to Milton A. Clevenger on August 26, 1949. He preceded her in death on March 27th, 1993.She was also preceded in deathby her parents,and her brothers and their spousesEugene (Frances)Espey, FredEspey, and Garth (Ann)Espey, all from Maryville, Missouri.

Mary Ruthgraduated from Maryville High School and Northwest Missouri State University. She taught in the Maryville and Savannah school systems until her retirement. She was an activemember of the Savannah United Methodist Churchfor over sixtyyears.She was also an active memberorvolunteer ofthe Andrew County Museum and Historical Society, RSVP,MissouriRetired Teachers Association,John Griffith Chapter of theDaughters of American Revolution,and Andrew County Senior Center.

Survivors include daughter, Judy Beth Clevenger, Greenwood, Arkansas; son, John Milton (Denise) Clevenger, Savannah, Missouri; grandchildren Allison (John)Otte, Kansas City, Missouri, Mitchell (Sarah) Clevenger, Kansas City, Missouri, and Jacob (Sarah) Clevenger, Smithville, Missouri; great-grandchildren, MaxOtte, SamanthaOtte, and Kennedy Clevenger; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral service will be held at 10:30a.m.Friday, October 24, 2014 atBreit - Hawkins Funeral Home, Savannah, Missouri, with burial to follow at Savannah Cemetery. The family will receive friends from5:00 to 7:00p.m.Thursday, October 23, 2014 at Breit - Hawkins funeral home.For those wishing to make a contributionin lieu of flowers, the family requests they be made to Savannah United Methodist Church,AndrewCounty Museumor Andrew County Senior Center.
