Marvin E. Breitkreutz, 77, Big Lake, MO previously of St. Joseph, MO passed from this life on Sunday, December 20, 2015 at LaVerna Village, St. Joseph, MO. He was born to Ewald and Esther (Merrill) Breitkreutz in Lebanon, SD on October 20, 1938.

Marvin was in the U.S. Army, 4 years with the Air Force and 2 years in the reserves, being discharged in 1962 as Airman 1st Class. He married Ellen Banks on October 19, 1986 in Nodaway, MO. Marvin was a caring guy. He never knew a stranger. He could talk to anyone and touched a lot hearts.

Marvin is survived by his wife, Ellen; one son, Jim (Courtney) Breitkreutz; one daughter, Holly (Jeremy) Harwood; five stepchildren, Peggy (Robert) Moore, Randy (Debbie) Lawrence, Jeff (Tina) Lawrence, Danny (Leatha) Lawrence, Julie Blazer; one brother, Melvin (Sandy) Breitkreutz; grandson, Tristan of the home, many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Donald Breitkreutz; three sisters, two in infancy and Joyce Breitkreutz; stepson, Darrel Lawrence.

Celebration of life will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, December 22, 2015 at Gladden - Stamey Funeral Home, St. Joseph, MO. Public visitation and family receiving hours will be one hour prior to service. Mr. Breitkreutz will be cremated following the service.
