Martha "Martie" Helen Schuman, 73, Fillmore, passed from this life on Sunday, September 24, 2017, in her home.
She was born January 25, 1944 in St. Joseph, MO the daughter of Laurella (Todd) Shores and Herman Shores.
Martie married her high school sweetheart, Larry "Joe" Schuman on November 15, 1962.
Martie was a member of the Fillmore Christian Church. She was the Fillmore C-1 School District secretary, secretary to the Board of Education, and the book keeper for Savannah Sur Gro Agri Business in Savannah, MO. She worked for ten years with her husband as co-owners of The Joe Schuman Auction Service. After retiring, she volunteered at the Andrew County Museum and acted as a museum board member. Many know her from her Fillmore History Page on Facebook, which she enjoyed.
Martie's life revolved around her family. She was proud of her four children and their spouses. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Martie was preceded in death by her husband, mother, and father.
Survivors: daughters and sons in law Marsha and Matt Pryor, Becky and Don Grimes, all of Savannah, MO; sons and daughters in law, David and Karen Schuman, Rosendale, MO, Robbie and Shannon Schuman, Fillmore, MO, sister and brother in-law, Carol and Dewayne Bell, Liberty, MO, brother and sister in law Roger and Janis Schuman, Savannah; sister in-law, Carol Schuman, Oregon, MO; Sharon and Dennis Sipes, Platte City, MO, Karen and Paul Fansher, Oregon, MO. Ten grandchildren: Brandy (Jeremy) McClintock, Josh (Tabatha) Pryor, Megan, Travis, Courtney, Lane, Tyler Schuman, Hayley (Colten) Chambers, Hannah (Jacob) Cole, and Hunter Grimes. Five Great Grandchildren: Emery and Fulton McClintock, Nakinly Pryor, Tucker Schuman, and Lexy Chambers. Martie was happily expecting her sixth great grandchild due in January; many nieces, nephews, and host of friends.
Celebration of Life 10:00 AM Thursday, September 28, 2017 Breit-Hawkins & Gladden Funeral Home, Savannah Interment in Fillmore Cemetery. Public viewing 5:00-8:00 PM Wednesday, September 27, 2017.
