Marine Cpl.
Timothy N. Titsworth
Oct 25, 1951 — Jul 13, 2026
Savannah
Marine Cpl. Timothy N. Titsworth died peacefully on July 13, 2026, following a long battle with physical and neurological issues. Tim served in Vietnam as a Radio Operator for 1st ANGLICO FMF. Following his service, Tim earned a Master's Degree in Computer Science Engineering and had almost finished his Ph.D. in Artificial Intelligence, long before AI became the issue it is today. Prior to that, he studied Anthropology at Texas Woman's University.
Tim worked for over 20 years for General Dynamics/LTV/Loral Vought/Lockheed Martin, as a Senior Systems Engineer on various projects, including the PAC-3 missile and an all-terrain combat vehicle. Tim also worked as a spacesuit engineer, collaborating with the Space Shuttle astronauts at Johnson Space Center to provide better protection for extravehicular activities.
Tim was an avid reader, enjoying everything from Napoleonic and other military history to science fiction and fantasy. He loved battle simulation gaming and was a collector of tabletop games. Tim loved playing Dungeons and Dragons and connected with several at-risk youth during those games, helping them by accepting them as they were, and encouraging them to build self-esteem.
Tim met his wife Kate when he asked her to watch the Jimmy Stewart movie "Harvey." It was a pivotal moment for them both. They were together for 46 years and married for 42 of them, staying together in part because of the movie "Blade Runner." During that time, they shared many adventures in the Pecos Wilderness in NE New Mexico, on cruises, at the beach, while traveling together, watching British comedies, and just living life. Sadly, in his later years, Tim's PTSD led to agoraphobia; he stayed pretty close to home, unable to set aside the anxiety and hyper-vigilance so common among those who suffer with PTSD. Tim had The ANGLICO Project, his organization that supported USMC ANGLICO units in Iraq and Afghanistan with care packages that, of course, included important things like toilet paper, comic books, coffee, sugar/sweetener, and creamer.
Tim was Kate's rock, encouraging her to finish her undergrad degree (2014), her Master of Divinity (2020), and he was her champion and cheerleader as she worked on her Doctor of Ministry. Tim and Kate have two children: Dr. Matthew Titsworth of Pfluegerville, TX, and Sam Titsworth of Arlington, TX. Tim had great pride in both of his sons and their accomplishments. Tim and Kate have three grandchildren, Taliesin, Kris, and Colin. In addition to his wife, children, and grandchildren, Tim is survived by his older brothers Allen David (Anne), KC (Sue), and John (Shirley) Titsworth.
Tim, this angry, depressed, difficult man, devoted his life to protecting others as best he could, especially those unable to protect themselves.
