Lucille Dickson, 86, Savannah, MO, passed away on Friday, March 18, 2016 at Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph, MO. She was born November 25, 1929 in DeKalb, MO. to James Cecil & Lula Mae (Roberts) Childress. She married William "Bill" Dickson June 19, 1949 in Savannah.
Lucille was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She enjoyed watching birds, squirrels, traveling, and reading. Lucille was an active member of the Savannah First Christian Church. She was a member of the Sew-More Club at the church and taught Sunday school for a number of years. She used to throw the best new year's eve parties for the grandchildren. Lucille was a tried and true Royals fan.
Lucille is survived by two daughters, Vickie & Edward Curran of Fillmore, MO, and Terri & Joe Brown of Raytown, MO; one sister, Barbara Scheub of Savannah, MO; six grandchildren, Tracy & Frank Hatfield of Rosendale, MO, Melissa & Shane Thorburn of Fillmore, MO, John Curran of St. Joseph, MO, Eric & Cindy Ramsey of Rea, MO, Jeff & Kerrie Curran of Fillmore, MO, Matthew & Marissa Curran of Savannah, MO; three step-grandchildren, Kyle Brown of Raymore, MO, Kirk & Jennifer Brown of Lee's Summit, MO, and Kara Nelson of Lake Lotawana, MO; fourteen great-grandchildren, and six step great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, and husband.
A Celebration of Life will be held 10:00AM Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at Breit - Hawkins Funeral Home in Savannah, MO. Family visitation and receiving hours will be Monday, March 21, 2016 from 6:00PM - 8:00PM at Breit - Hawkins Funeral Home in Savannah, MO. Burial will be in Savannah Cemetery, Savannah, MO. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made National Parkinson's Foundation.
