Loyde H. Anderson, 91, Rea, Mo., passed away on Thursday, February 11, 2016 at Vintage Gardens in St. Joseph, Mo. He was born August 10, 1924 in Whitesville, Mo. to Harley and Garnett (Pike) Anderson.
Loyde married Ruth Marie Tomlinson in Atchison, Ks. on December 10, 1945 and she survives of the home. Loyde served in the U.S. Navy, retired from Armour and Company in 1983, and he enjoyed fishing and quail hunting. His farm was his passion and it is rumored he was the best fence builder in Andrew County.
Survivors include his wife, three sons: Earl (Sylvia) Anderson of Camden Point, Mo., Ronald (Harriet) Anderson of Sacramento, Ca., and Loyde Dean (Wanda) Anderson of Savannah, Mo.; three daughters: Sandra Fawcett of Molalla, Or., Martha (Mark) Mozinski of Savannah, and Julia Hartman of Savannah; one brother, Melvin (Theresa) Anderson of St. Joseph, Mo., 14 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Lila Lawrence, of St. Joseph.
Visitation will be held 9-10 a.m. Monday, February 15 at Breit-Hawkins Funeral Home in Savannah, followed by funeral service at 10 a.m. Burial will be at the Whitesville Cemetery, Whitesville, Mo. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Boys Town (boystown.org).
