Lorene Kelly, 87, of St. Joseph went to be with her Lord on Saturday, September 16, 2017 at Laverna Village in Savannah, MO. She was born November 10, 1929 in Maysville, MO to Loren & Stella (Campbell) Ross. She married Billy Gene Kelly on May 2, 1953 in St. Joseph, MO and he preceded her in death on October 13, 2002.
Lorene loved being with her family. She enjoyed bowling, ballroom dancing, Sewing, volunteering for Hands of Hope Hospice, and delivering Meals on Wheels. She was a secretary for the State Hospital in St. Joseph for many years
She is survived by her children, Michael (Kathy) Kelly of The Colony, Texas, Patrick (Debbie) Kelly of St. Joseph, Terry (Pam) Kelly of St. Joseph, Deborah (Michael) Rose of St. Joseph, Kevin Kelly and Bonita Russell of St. Joseph, and Brenda (Dan) Beaufort of Brunswick, Maine; 13 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren; brothers Jerry (Diane) Ross of St. Joseph, Junior Ross & Jimalee O'Conner of St. Joseph, and Jack (Ericka) Ross of Wesley Chapel, Florida. She was preceded in death by parents, husband, three brothers, Sam Ross, Frank Ross, and Donnie Ross.
Celebration of Life will be 10 a.m. Thursday, September 21, 2017 at Gladden-Stamey Funeral Home, St. Joseph. Public visitation and family receiving hours will be 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at Gladden-Stamey Funeral Home in St. Joseph. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, St. Joseph, MO. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Partners.
