Lois Jeaninne (Quick) Daise, of Ozark, MO (formerly of St. Joseph, MO) passed away on Friday, April 22, 2016 at the age of 83.
Lois was born on September 10, 1932 to parents Jacob "Chick" and Lou Emma Quick in Oregon, MO. She grew up as the youngest of five children. Lois graduated Forest City High School in 1950. After living in Pennsylvania for a short while, Lois moved back and made her home in St. Joseph, MO. In 1969 she married Vern W. Daise and the couple were blessed with one daughter, Sherri. Lois worked for Laidlaw Transit (formerly Davis Bus Company) for twenty years until her retirement in 2001. Lois was an active member of the Community Presbyterian Church in St. Joseph for over thirty years where she consistently attended Sunday school, participated in the Women's Group and served as a Deacon.
Lois is survived by her daughter, Sherri (Daise) Smith; son in law, David Smith of Ozark, MO; grandchildren Mallory, Chaz, and Jacob of Ozark, MO; stepson, Lanny Daise and wife Vashti of St. Joseph, MO; granddaughter Seanna; and stepdaughter, Suann Daise of Mission, KS. A nephew, Bill Peek; nieces Gale DeShon, Juli Noland, and Chloe Ann Schubert. Also surviving is dear friend Jim Pierce. Lois was preceded in death by her parents, four siblings and husband of 37 years, Vern.
In 2014, Lois moved to Ozark, MO to be closer to her daughter and spend time with her grandchildren. Lois enjoyed spending her days reading, watching Andy Griffith, and Gunsmoke. She enjoyed conversations with her son-in-law, David over several cups of coffee in the morning and watching the birds outside the kitchen windows.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at 11:00 am at Gladden Stamey Funeral Home in St. Joseph, MO. Friends and family are invited to attend. Lois will be laid to rest next to her husband, Vern, at the Oregon Cemetery. Flowers and condolences may be sent to Gladden Stamey Funeral Home.
