Lewis L. Gabriel, 90, of Savannah, MO passed away Saturday, March 17, 2018 at his home in Savannah. He was born September 21, 1927 to David & Amma (Dannar) Gabriel. He married Rosalie Terry in Hiawatha, KS on August 1, 1952 and she survives of the home.
Lewis proudly served in the US Navy from 1945-1954 serving in World War II, and the Korean War. He worked at Swift Packing Company and St. Joseph Structural Steel which became Hallett Wire and retired in 1989. He was a member of the Scottish Rite, and Moila Shrine since 1969. He also was a member of the Amazonia VFW, and a lifelong member of The Legion of Honor. He enjoyed collecting and restoring old John Deere tractors and John Deere memorabilia.
He is survived by his wife; son, Dave Gabriel of Troy, KS; daughter, Brenda (Greg) Weigart of Savannah; six grandchildren, Matt, Nathan, David, Taylor, Kalcie, and Sydnee; and nine great-grandchildren.
Public visitation and family receiving hours will be Tuesday, March 20, 2018 from 5:00pm - 7:00pm at Breit Hawkins Funeral Home. Burial will be later. Memorial contributions can be made to Shriners Hospital for Children.
