Leta L. Rainez, 93, St. Joseph, MO, passed away on Thursday, March 10, 2016 at her home in St. Joseph, MO. She was born October 28, 1922 in St. Joseph, MO to James Donald & Leota (Newland) Silcott. She married Edward G. Rainez in Troy KS,
November 8, 1940 and he preceded her in death March 4, 1966.
Leta loved her family very much. She traveled all over country with her sister Millie Taylor who some say were joined at the hip. She enjoyed shopping and a good garage sale. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.
Survivors include three sons, Charles & Sue Rainez, Richard & Pat Rainez, and Dennis Rainez all of St. Joseph; one daughter, Debra & David Piercy of Kansas City, MO and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and one daughter, Diann Carter.
A Celebration of Live will be 2:00PM Monday March 14, 2016 at Gladden-Stamey Funeral Home, St. Joseph, MO. Visitation will be 1:00PM - 2:00PM Monday, March 14, 2016 at Gladden-Stamey Funeral Home. Interment will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery St. Joseph, MO. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Special Olympics.
