Leo Akins 85, St. Joseph, MO passed from this life on Monday, February 23, 2015 at Cameron Regional Medical Center, Cameron, MO. He was born March 14, 1929 in St. Joseph, MO to Otto and Maggie (Bartlett) Akins.
Leo Married Alice Smith on June 3, 1950 then entered the Army in September 27, 1950 and was discharged with ranking of Sergeant on October 27, 1952.
Survivors include sons, Leo Kevin (Debbie) Akins, St. Joseph, MO, Timothy Scott (Judy) Akins, Savannah, MO; four grandsons, and nine great-grandchildren. Leo was preceded in death by his wife, Alice and parents.
Celebration of Life will be 2:00 PM Thursday, February 26, 2015 at Breit - Hawkins Funeral Home, Savannah, MO. Public visitation will be from 1-2pm Thursday February 26, 2015 at the funeral home. Interment will be in Savannah Cemetery, Savannah, Missouri. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Missouri Veterans Home, 1111 Euclid Ave, Cameron, MO 64429.
