Ralph Laverne Eckles, age 84, Rosendale, Missouri passed from this life on Wednesday, December 29th 2021 in St. Joseph, MO.  He was born March 9 ^th , 1937 in Rosendale Missouri to Ralph E. and Opal (Cobb) Eckles. He married Billie Sue McBeath and had two children, Kim Pryor and Dana Carpenter.

Laverne love playing cards, fishing, hunting, and was a remarkable dancer. He was also an avid softball pitcher as well.  Laverne owned and operated Andrew County Oil Company "Texaco" in Savannah MO for many years and then he took over farming in 1976 and retired at age 62.

He leaves behind a legacy of loved ones: Kim Pryor and Marion of Fillmore, MO, Dana Carpenter and Jim Carpenter, of Kansas City, MO; granddaughters, Corrie Pryor and fiancé Jimmy Turner, and Kelsey Phillips and husband Ryen; four grandkids, and one nephew Brent O'Connell.  His sister Sharon O'Connell preceded Laverne and mother Opal (Cobb) Eckles and Father Ralph E. Eckles.

Celebration of life will be 10:00AM Tuesday, January 4 ^th , 2022 at Breit Hawkins Funeral Home Savannah MO. Visitation and family receiving hours will be 6:00 to 8:00 PM Monday, January 3 ^rd , 2022 at the Funeral Home. Interment will be in Savannah Cemetery immediately following the service.
