Kermit C. Wells passed away April 11, at the King City Manor, King City Mo. He was born July 14, 1924, son of Raymond and Marie (Lebow) Wells.
Kermit was a member of the Eagles Lodge in St. Joseph and played guitar with a band in his younger years. He enjoyed dancing, playing cards, and collecting Eagles. Kermit loved farming, raising cattle and hogs, throughout his life, in the High Prairie community in Andrew County.
Kermit married the love of his life, Virginia Lee Meng Wells in 1946. They joined the Star Chapel Methodist Church in May 1951. Virginia and Kermit tragically lost a daughter, Marie Louise, at birth in 1951 and an eight-month old son, Kermit Keith, in 1955. Kermit was also preceded in death by Virginia in 1966.
Kermit will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He is survived by his brother, Dale (Melva Deane) Wells; nieces Lori (Dennis) Ambroske and Shari (Steve) Adams; nephew, Greg Wells; great nephew, Brandon Ambroske; great nieces, Brooke Ambroske, Heather Adams, Chandler Adams, Myranda Wells, Lauren Wells; and great step niece Megan Powell.
Kermit was a respected neighbor and loyal friend to many people. He. Will be remembered for his exceptional memory and steadfast dedication to farming.
Per Kermit's request, graveside services, conducted by Rev. Bob Caldwell at the Savannah Cemetery on Wednesday April 13, 2016 at 3pm. Open visitation will be from 12pm - 2pm at Breit - Hawkins Funeral Home in Savannah, MO.
