Joseph Eugene "Gene" Taylor, 63 of Savannah passed away Thursday, March 2 ^nd , 2023 in Savannah.  He was born September 3 ^rd , 1959 in St. Joseph to Joseph Taylor and Winifred Lucille (Pyles) Taylor.

Gene enjoyed lawn tractor pulling, hunting, fishing, small engine repair and tinkering in his garage.  Gene graduated from Savannah High School and worked as a mechanic until retirement.

He is survived by his children, Melissa (Dan) Fowler of Kansas City and Matt (Karen) Taylor of Savannah; grandchildren, Owen Taylor, Kinsley Fowler, Lukas Taylor, and Graham Fowler; brother, Dean Taylor of Union Star; and mother of his children, Cindy Taylor of Savannah.  He was preceded in death by his parents.

Memorial visitation will be 5:00pm-7:00pm Wednesday, March 8 ^th , 2023 at Breit-Hawkins Funeral Home Savannah.  Breit-Hawkins Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.
