Jimmie J. Riley, 88, of Country Club, MO passed away on Wednesday, November 23, 2016 at Carriage Square Health Care Center in St. Joseph, MO. He was born on July 22, 1928 in Oregon, MO to James and Jessie (Carroll) Riley. He married his high school sweetheart Virginia Lucille Turner on November 5, 1949 in Fillmore, MO and preceded him in death in 2005.
Jimmie was a veteran of the Korean Conflict. A fifty-plus year member of the Masonic Lodge in Fillmore, MO. Jimmie served on the Andrew County Senior Citizens Tax Refund Board. He was an active member of The First Baptist Church, Savannah where he served as a deacon and was on numerous committees. When Jimmie was not at the men's social club in Savannah or doing something for his family you could find him at the hospital visiting the sick. Jimmie retired in 1990 from the dry grocery division of The Pillsbury Company as a salesman.
Survivors include two sons, Randy (Lynette) Riley and Tim Riley all of St. Joseph; two grandchildren, Kelly (Joshua) Ruckman of St. Joseph and Kensey (Nate) Gosch of Kansas City, MO; three great-grandchildren, Ella, Riley, and Everly Gosch.
Funeral Services will be 10:00AM Monday, November 28, 2016 at Breit-Hawkins Funeral Home in Savannah. Visitation and family receiving hours will be Monday, November 28, 2016 from 9:00AM to 10:00AM at Breit-Hawkins Funeral Home in Savannah, MO. Private family burial will be in the Fillmore Cemetery, Fillmore, MO. In Lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to First Baptist Church, Savannah.
