Jay Edward Straub passed from this life surrounded by his family on June 14th, 2026. Jay was born in Fairfax, MO on April 7th,1964 to Joseph E. & Bernice (Hughes) Straub.

Jay loved deer hunting with his family. He was also a master angler. He could be found with his dogs walking at Mozingo or shooting his bow.  Jay was planning on competing in the 2026 Senior Olympics in Archery.  He lived a big part of his life in the Fairfax/ Tarkio area. He joined the US Army after graduating high school.  He was proud to be a veteran.  Jay was also an organ donor.

Jay is survived by his son Joe Straub of Lathrop, MO; sister, Lynette (Jon) Carson of Savannah, MO; and nephew, Lane (Kim) Florea of Overland Park, KS.

Memorial services will be 12:00pm Monday, June 22, 2026 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Maryville, MO.  Breit-Hawkins Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.
