Jay Lynn Grishow, 52, Savannah, MO. passed away Friday, July 27, 2018 at his home in Savannah. He was born July 22, 1966 in Fairfax, MO, to Johnny & Betty (Noland) Grishow.
Jay enjoyed woodworking and was a wonderful woods craftsman. He adored his family and the time he spent with them. He was an old rock and roll music and guitar lover. He was a 1984 graduate of Fillmore High School, Filmore, MO.
Jay is survived by his longtime life partner, Michelle Carpenter; one daughter, Kristen (Todd) Hon of Savannah; one brother, Scott Grishow of Forest City, MO; sister, Lillian Vandeventer of Mound City, MO; sister-in-law, Pam Thompson of Country Club, MO; two grandchildren, Kalen Hon and Hillary Hughes; two nephews Christopher (Brea) Thompson of Cosby, MO and Matthew (Hayley) Thompson of St. Joseph; one great-nephew Eddie Thompson. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation and family receiving hours will be Tuesday, July 31, 2018 from 6:00pm - 8:00pm at Breit-Hawkins Funeral Home in Savannah. Funeral Services will be Wednesday, August 1, 2018 at 2:00pm at Breit-Hawkins Funeral Home in Savannah. Burial will be in Fillmore Cemetery, Fillmore, MO. Memorial contributions can be made to The Friends of the St. Joseph Animal Shelter.
