Janice Ilene
(Dunn) Manship
Oct 27, 1937 — Nov 29, 2020
St. Joseph
It is with great heartbreak the family announce the passing of Janice Ilene (Dunn) Manship, 83, of St. Joseph, MO on Sunday November 29, 2020 at a local hospital in St. Joseph. Janice was born on October 27, 1937 in Bigelow, MO to Henry C. Dunn and Lena Maude (DeLong) Dunn. Janice married Lester Manship in Guilford, MO on December 20, 1959.
Janice loved her friends and family passionately and was always the "caregiver" for anyone in need. Her grandchildren were her crown jewels and she loved every minute spent with them and could frequently be found at their sports events proudly sporting her "Grandma" fanwear. She loved to sew and has produced many gorgeous quilts. In earlier years she learned to play the organ and could be found occasionally still playing. She also loved crafting and spent a lot of years folk painting. She enjoyed putting in a garden and canning the produce. Throughout the years she was involved with several "Ladies' groups" enjoying the fellowship.
Survivors include daughter, Lisa (Joe)Webster of St. Joseph; son, Kenneth Manship of Fayetteville, NC; Seven grandchildren, Tyler (Kimberly) Manship of Cleveland, GA; Madison and Carter Manship of Fayetteville, NC; Reagan, Zoé, Creed and Selah Webster of St. Joseph and one great-granddaughter, Kennedy Manship of Cleveland, GA; nieces, nephews and cousins.
Janice retired from nursing after a very lengthy carrier where she had opportunities to be a part of making significant changes in healthcare. She thoroughly enjoyed retirement spending much time camping and starting several new hobbies.
Janice was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Lester; parents, brothers Clarence, John, Danny Dunn and sisters Alice Cothern and Geraldine Dodds.
Due to current safety concerns a public Memorial Service will be held at a later date
