James Robert "Bob" (Wright) Garrett, 83, of Barnard, MO passed away Friday, September 23, 2017 at Shady Lawn Nursing Home in Savannah, MO. He was born in Loveland, CO on December 16, 1933 to Raymond & Mary Wright and was later adopted by Roy and Helen (Ashworth) Garrett. He married Betty Harter November 27, 1958 in Fanning, KS and she survives of the home.
Bob served his church as a pastor and community in various capacities. He enjoyed farming, hunting, and the outdoors.
He is survived by one son, Jim (Veronica) Garrett of Olathe, KS; two daughters, Kelly (Lehman) Heaviland of Independence, MO, and Julie (Rex) Allen of Miller, MO; two brothers, Larry (Jane) Garrett of Harper, TX, and Lloyd (Margaret) Wright of Smithville, MO; eight grandchildren, Lehman Heaviland, Joy Heaviland, Reagan Ekasala, Evan Garrett, Elizabeth Garrett, Kelsey (Jeff) Smith, Emily (Brenden) Richardson, Clay Allen, and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Helen Duff and Hazel Thomas; one brother, Roy Wright.
Graveside Services will be Tuesday, September 26, 2017, at 2:00pm at Bethany Church Cemetery in rural Barnard, MO. Breit-Hawkins Funeral Home of Savannah is in charge of local arrangements.
