Jackie David
Langford
Sep 13, 1942 — Mar 30, 2023
St. Joseph
Jackie David Langford, 80, of St. Joseph, MO, went home to be with our Lord on Thursday, March 30, 2023. He was born in Long Beach, CA to David and Reva (Coffey) Langford. He married Mary Jane Pierschbacher in Lucas County Iowa in 1965 at the Christian Union Church. He is a Marine, a Civil Engineer of his alma mater Iowa State (GO CLONES!), and was a preacher for many years at Christ's Church in Saint Joseph, MO. He enjoyed cooking, woodworking, doing remodeling projects, and church rallies. Jack was a graduate of Midwestern School of Evangelism in Ottumwa, IA. He also loved being a church camp counselor and was referred to by many as the "camp Grandpa".
Survivors include his wife Mary Jane, children, Darrin (Lisa) Langford of Menomonee Falls, WI, Sue Personett (Fiancé Steve Cleary) of Green Bay, WI, and Nathan (Mandy) Langford of Pleasantville, IA; Grandchildren, Krista, Jessica (Daniel), Collin (Starr), Theo, Bianca, Monique, Briquelle, Brock, Layla, Anthony (Dusti), Brooke (Zach), Katelynn (Mark), Kolbie, Makaela, Dillon, Maverick, Jaxon, and Great Grandchildren, Allea, Penelope, Brantley (Professor Punkin Patch), Ember and Aspen; siblings, Weston Langford of Des Moines, IA, Terry (Julie) Langford of Humeston, IA, Edgar Langford of Des Moines, IA, Carolyn Clowser of Corydon, IA, and Barbara Ewing of Knoxville, IA. He was preceded in death by his parents, mother and father-in-law, son Todd Langford, half-sister and husband (Janice and Doyle Marker), and brother-in-law Bob Clowser.
Rejoicing cannot even begin to describe the extent of what Jack/Dad/Grandpa is experiencing and enjoying right now. He always cheered while you triumphed and comforted you when you scraped a knee. He gave a heartfelt, firm hug or maybe a tear-filled eye while he shared in your pain.
Jack was loved and will be greatly missed by everyone he ever came in contact with. He knew no stranger and would have given the shirt off of his back to anyone who needed it without blinking an eye.
