Jack R. Haenni, 83, Savannah, passed away October 1 at a local health-care facility. Jack was born on March 16, 1932, to P.V. (Vince) and Leola Haenni. He graduated from Savannah High School. He married Minnie Lucille Bunse on February 15, 1958. She survives of the home.
Jack served in the U.S. Navy from 1950-1954. While a Navy Air Corpsman, he was stationed in San Diego and Guam and flew as a radar operator. Upon his return from the military, he worked at Armour and Co., where he was employed for 30 years. He was also a farmer.
Jack enjoyed airplanes, motorcycling, trivia, crossword puzzles and family. He was a member of American Legion, Post 287 and the Savannah United Methodist Church.
Surviving family includes: his wife, Minnie, of the home; brother, Paul (Carol), Virginia Beach, VA; sons, Randy, Savannah and Jim (Stephanie), St. Joseph; daughters, Lori Mitchell (Mark), Rock Hill, SC and Serena Loving (Michael), St. Joseph; eleven grandchildren, Elise Haenni, Beth Ann Haenni, Grace Haenni, J.R. (Emily) Mitchell, Jacob Mitchell, Christopher Mitchell, Sophia Loving, Lily Loving, Maggie Loving, Lucian Haenni, and Harper Haenni; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A Celebration of Life will be Monday, October 5, 2015 at 1:00 PM, at Breit-Hawkins Funeral Home; Savannah. Burial will follow in Savannah Cemetery, Savannah MO. Visitation with the family will be Sunday, October 4, 2015 from 2:00 - 4:00 PM, at Breit-Hawkins Funeral Home in Savannah, MO. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Savannah United Methodist Church.
