Horace "Ray" Cole, of Rosendale, MO passed away on Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at LaVerna Village in Savannah surrounded by his loving family. He was born May 20, 1926 in Rea, MO to Horace and Vivian (Whorton) Cole.
Ray graduated from North Andrew High School in 1944 and thereafter spent two years with the Maritime Service. Ray spent most of his life farming in the surrounding area. He loved being with all his family. He was a long-time member of Rosendale Christian Church.
On September 14, 1947 Ray married Mary Lou Wilson. They were blessed with over 69 years of marriage. To this union four children were born: Mary Kathryn Young, Steven (Debra) Cole, Julie (Jeff) Jordan, and Kittie Jane (Steve) Schieber. In addition to his beloved wife and four children. Ray is survived by eight grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren and a sister, Betty Mann. Ray was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Patsy Ruth Cole & JuneEtta Goforth
Services will be 11:00AM, Saturday, November 5, 2016 at Breit-Hawkins Funeral Home in Savannah. Visitation and family receiving hours will be Saturday, November 5, 2016 from 9:30AM to 11:00AM at the funeral home. Burial will be in Savannah Cemetery in Savannah, MO.
