Helen Elaine Stegall, 81, passed away Wednesday, December 15, 2021 at her home in Savannah, MO.  She was born near Pumpkin Center, MO on January 5, 1940 to Dale & Bernice (Cliser) Thrasher.  She married Ralph Stegall in 1957 and he preceded her in death in 1998.

Elaine loved her family, working in the yard, garage sales, and she loved a good deal.  She was always friendly and kind to everyone.

Elaine graduated from Maryville's Horace Mann High School and went on to a long career with Boehringer-Ingelheim, where she worked in research and development.  Hired with no degree or experience, she spent over 30 years with that company, retiring in 2002.  As a testament to her commitment and loyalty, a college degree is now required for anyone performing her duties.

Survivors include Children, Toni (Tim) Wise of Deland, FL and Chris (Reba) Stegall of Oklahoma City, OK; grandchildren, Dustin (April) Richey and Daniel (Keri) Richey; step-granddaughter, Megan Tadros; and great-grandchildren, Xander, Lexi, Cooper, and Harper.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sisters, Deloris Blair and Wava Townsend, and daughter, Lori Richey.

Elaine spent her whole life in Northwest Missouri and lived at her home on Chestnut Street since 1960.  She cherished the Savannah Community and its small-town atmosphere.

Graveside services will be 2:00pm, Tuesday, December 21, 2021 at Salem Cemetery. Breit-Hawkins Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.
