Harry Calvin Mahlandt, of Helena, Missouri, passed away at home on Monday, August 24, 2026. He was 91. Known as “Buster,” he was born on June 23, 1935 to Harry Clay & Eva (Dameron) Mahlandt in Atlantic, Iowa. He married Marjorie Giles in St. Joseph, Missouri on June 22, 1957.

Buster was a farmer and avid outdoorsman. He built a thriving farm, and even in retirement, he continued to grow a large garden, including a pumpkin patch for his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, sharing his passion with his sons and grandchildren.

He was active in the community, serving as a member of the Helena Volunteer Fire Department and as a member of the Helena Lions Club. Buster served on the school board for Union Star R-II and on the board of Water District Number 2. He served six years in the Missouri Air National Guard, receiving an honorable discharge as a staff sergeant in 1959. He was a member of Saint Rose of Lima Parish Catholic Church in Savannah, MO, and was a member of the Knights of Columbus.

Survivors include his wife, Marjorie Mahlandt; children: LouAnn Mahlandt (Simon Barbosa) of Helena, William Mahlandt of Cumming, GA, Bob (Cyndy) Mahlandt of Helena, and Andy (Lacy) Mahlandt of Overland Park, KS; grandchildren: Joseph Barbosa, Kathleen Barbosa, Michael Barbosa, Kelsey Mahlandt, Taylor Mahlandt, and Olivia Mahlandt; great-grandchildren: Joseph, Anthony, Patrick, Lucy, Archie, Mary Elena, Autumn, and Ellery; and multiple nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Jeanette (Mahlandt) Simpson.

Visitation and a family receiving hour will be from 9:00 am – 10:00 am on Friday, August 28, 2026 at Saint Rose of Lima Parish in Savannah, MO. Funeral services will be at 10:00 am Friday, August 28, 2026 at Saint Rose of Lima Parish. Burial will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery in St. Joseph, MO.
