Harold Erickson, 72, of Amazonia, MO passed away unexpectedly on Friday, November 25, 2016 at Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph, MO. He was born on January 10, 1944 in St. Joseph, MO to Carl & Agnes (Hubbard) Erickson. He married Janice Larison on November 30, 1964 in St. Joseph, MO and she survives of the home.
Harold was a loving father who cherished his family dearly. He would help anyone, had a larger than life personality, never knew a stranger, and loved making everyone laugh. He enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, the great outdoors, his lifelong friends, and the coffee shop fellas.
Survivors include three sons, Frank (Cindy) Erickson of Amazonia, Tony (Angie) Erickson of Amazonia, and Jody Erickson of St. Joseph; one daughter, Angela (Richard) Miller of Soul, Korea; one brother, Melvin Erickson of Wathena, KS; one sister, Iola Erickson of St. Joseph; nine grandchildren, Stephanie (Brad) Meyer, Brandin (Mindy) Erickson, Tony Erickson II, Patrick Erickson & Morgan Calvert, Tim Lee, Alexis Miller, Collin Erickson, Dylan Kelley, and Jessica Erickson; four great-grandchildren, Dexter & Huxley Erickson, and Jaxon & Isabella Meyer. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Sarah and Sue, one brother, Sonny, and one sister in law Sandy.
Funeral Services will be 10:00AM Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at Breit-Hawkins Funeral Home in Savannah. Visitation and family receiving hours will be Monday, November 28, 2016 from 5:00PM to 8:00PM at Breit-Hawkins Funeral Home in Savannah, MO. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery in Amazonia, MO.
