Everett D. Thompson passed away on Tuesday, October 4, 2016, at home with his wife by his side. Everett was born on April 6, 1942, in St. Joseph, MO, to Garland and Myrtle (Dawes) Thompson. He graduated from Lafayette High School in 1962 and married Jacklyn Kay (Green) on May 27, 1963.
Everett coached basketball and softball and enjoyed woodworking and spending time with his family. Everett was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Garland Jr. and Samuel; and granddaughter, Michaela Townsend.
Survivors include his wife; daughter, Melody (Moe) Myer; granddaughter, Chelsea (fiancé Cory Hagan) Townsend; sister, Sharelle (Larry) Blevins; uncles, Eddie Miller and Bill Thompson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, October 7 at Breit-Hawkins Funeral Home in Savannah, MO. Public visitation will be 6:00-8:00 pm Thursday, October 6 at Breit-Hawkins Funeral Home.
