Obituary

Eric James Moe, 30, Savannah, MO. passed away on Sunday, May 19, 2019 at a local hospital in St. Joseph. He was born June 19, 1988 in Huron, South Dakota to Roger J. Moe and Renee Raether-Evans.  He married Brianna Lin Ebersold in Union Star, MO on May 12, 2018 and she survives of the home.

Eric was larger than life and loved fiercely. He would do anything for those he loved, and was a protector of what he loved. He worked with passion and a sense of pride. Though he was known to hibernate, sometimes for days on end, when he was passionate about something he was driven and ambitious, He worked so hard to provide for his family. He loved his dogs, Zeus, Hera & Athena, to the point it occasionally made his wife jealous. He would tell people they had 3 furry kids. He stood strong for what he believed in & never pretended to be someone he was not. His boisterous laugh was contagious, and he loved making others laugh. He would light up a room with laughter and his stories and tales. Though he looked like a grizzly lumberjack, he had a brilliant mind and a keen ability for problem solving. This led him to pursue a venture in construction, where he excelled. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding his motorcycle, traveling, his wife, their furbabies, & spending time with family and friends. He always put others before himself and was always there when others needed him. He had such an interesting, injunctive mind & loved to learn as much as he could. Though he looked fierce he was a giant teddy bear to those he cared for.  He was the owner operator of Atlas Construction & Repair.  He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and participated in Operation Enduring Freedom twice, serving in Saudi Arabia and Afghanistan.  He was a member of the American Legion Post 287, Savannah, MO and the American Legion Riders.

Survivors include his wife, Brianna Moe of Savannah; mother, Renee Raether-Evens & Jimbo Evans of Independence, MO; father, Roger Moe of Savannah; paternal grandmother, Carol & Victor Dye; sister, Teah Moe of Blue Springs, MO; nieces, Ava Hall and River Moe; mother and father in-law, Kendall & Brenda Ebersold of King City; brother-in-law's, Keaton Ebersold of Mound City, MO and Kendrick Ebersold of Camp Pendleton, CA; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.   He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents; Leander & Patricia Raether and paternal grandfather Roger Moe & Uncle Bobby Bentz, Cousin Robert Bentz & Uncle Monte Raether.
