Donald (Don) Miller, 88, Savannah, passed Saturday, March 3, 2024.  Don was born July 12, 1935, to George Miller and Zella (Jones) Miller. Don married Jean Farrell September 3, 1955, and they celebrated 67 years of marriage just before Jean's death on September 24, 2022.

Don graduated from Union Star High school where he was All-State in football; played basketball and American Legion baseball.  He was also in the Naval Reserve.

Don coached 5th and 6th grade girls basketball for several years.

Over his career, Don drove a milk truck, farmed and drove over-the-road.  In 1981 he began his own successful trucking company, Five M Trucking, retiring in 2013.

Don is survived by children Mark (Janet), Rita Houston (Kelly), Boyd (Kathy) Miller; grandchildren Ethan Miller, Caylee Knox, Colby Miller, Jenna Hovey, Brock Houston, Jacob Miller, Katie Stoll; 13 great-grandchildren; and sister, Leota Wilson.  Along with Jean, Don was preceded in death by his parents, and brother and sister-in-law Larry and Vernelle Miller.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, March 7, 2024 at Breit-Hawkins Funeral Home, Savannah, with a graveside service 10:00 a.m. Friday, March 8, 2024 at Helena Cemetery.
