Dixie Muriel McGinnis, 89, of Amazonia, MO passed away on Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at Laverna Village in Savannah, MO. She was born on February 11, 1927 in Gibson, TN to Lawton & Eura (Tinkle) Campbell. She married Joseph McGinnis on July 15, 1944 in Troy, KS and he preceded her in death on February 3, 2002.
Dixie loved her family and the big family get-togethers they shared. She enjoyed vacations, shopping, flowers, reading, and bird watching. She retired from Mead Products after 33 years of service and enjoyed working at Rosie's in Savannah. Dixie was an easy-going person who will be missed.
Survivors include two sons, John (Paula) McGinnis of Kearney, MO, and Butch (Peggy) McGinnis of Cosby, MO; one daughter, Patti Stull & Arvin Cruse of St. Joseph; five grandchildren, Chad McGinnis, Ryan (Lindsay) McGinnis, Blake McGinnis, Bo McGinnis, Nicole Stull & Becky Newton; three great-grandchildren, Acen, Cameron and Maisie. She was preceded in death by her husband, one son Michael McGinnis, and grandson Travis Stull.
Funeral Services will be 1:00PM Saturday, January 21, 2017 at Breit-Hawkins Funeral Home in Savannah. Visitation and family receiving hours will be Friday, January 20, 2017 from 5:00PM to 7:00PM at Breit-Hawkins Funeral Home in Savannah, MO. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery, St. Joseph, MO.
