David Ralph Nuckols March 24, 1942-July 3, 2021

Dave Nuckols, age 79, passed away at Mosaic Hospital on July 3, 2021 in St. Joseph, Missouri after a hard 22 day fight with Covid-19. He was born in St Joseph, Missouri to the late Joseph and Francis Nuckols. He grew up hunting with his dad and brother developing his lifelong love for his favorite hobby. Dave graduated from Park Hill Class in 1960. He then married Judy Hall on June 28, 1963. They lived and raised their family in Kansas City, MO while working at Southwestern Bell where he eventually retired after 42 years. During his working years, he was an active member and then president of CWA Local #6325 for 10 years doing work that he was passionate about. He always worked hard to help and protect those that needed it and strived to always do the right thing. He was an avid hunter in his free time with his brother and friends throughout his life. He enjoyed quail, pheasant and deer hunting in Kansas and Missouri. Healso loved his time riding motorcycles with his friends. Dave and Judy spent many miles and days riding motorcycles across the country and into Canada with their friends. After retirement, they moved to Savannah, Missouri to enjoy life on their farm with cows, crops and family. Dave continued hunting with his brother and friends throughout his retirement. He was able to watch his grandkids grow up and loved supporting them in sports and life. Dave truly enjoyed the slow pace of life in the country, visiting his cousins and eating at some of his favorite places around town. His genuine smile, quick wit and overall likeable personality touched many lives and he will be truly missed but remembered with a smile.

Dave is survived by his wife of 58 great years, Judy; brother Robert Nuckols and sister Joyce (and Fred) Willhite; his son Scott and Kelly Nuckols, daughter Julie and Rolando Jimenez, daughter Cherie and Jimmy Thatcher; grandchildren Sarah Nuckols, Emily Nuckols, Grace (and Kyle Rinehart) Nuckols, Christopher (and Chelsea) Jimenez, Alexander (and Courtney) Jimenez, Natalie Jimenez, Brandon Jimenez, Steven (and Kiley) Thatcher, Thomas Thatcher and Beckie Thatcher; great grandchildren Julian Jimenez, son of Alexander and Courtney and Coleman Rinehart, son of Grace and Kyle; several beloved cousins, nieces and nephews; as well as numerous friends.
