David "Dave" Matthew Mitchell, 41, of Barnard, MO passed away Monday, March 15, 2021 at a local hospital in St. Joseph.  He was born in St. Joseph on October 31, 1979 to DWayne David Mitchell & Karen Hudson.

Dave enjoyed spending time with his family, the family dog; Crow, motorcycles, playing the drums and harmonica. Dave was a compassionate man who was always trying to help others.

Dave is survived by his significant other, Jennifer Jewett, of the home; his children, Galvino Fernandez of Sioux Falls, SD, Kyleigh Mitchell of St. Joseph, Dallas Mitchell of St. Joseph, and Abigayle and DWayne Mitchell of Barnard, MO; grandson, Devron Mitchell; mother, Karen Hudson; siblings, Amber (Norman) Banks of Savannah and Ashli Calvert of St. Joseph; maternal grandfather, Dale Hudson; paternal grandparents, DWayne (Sherry) Mitchell of Amazonia and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father and maternal grandmother, Ruth Hudson.

A private family inurnment will be held at a later date.  Breit-Hawkins Funeral Home, Savannah overseeing local arrangements.
