Danny L. Atkins, 71, Rea, MO, passed away surrounded by his family on Tuesday, October 29, 2019 at a local hospital in St. Joseph, MO. He was born February 13, 1948 in Maryville, MO to Glenn Dale and Lola Marie (Shaffer) Atkins.  He married Cheryl Hollopeter in Rosendale, MO on September 21, 1968 and she survives of the home.

Danny loved his family and enjoyed whatever the grandchildren were doing. He openly practiced his faith in Jesus and was a member of Rosendale Christian Church and attended Countryside Christian Church.  He enjoyed fishing, fast pitch softball, gardening, and playing cards.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Cheryl Atkins; parents, Dale and Lola Atkins of Rosendale; sons Richard (Tammy) Atkins of Fillmore and Bradley (Valerie) Atkins of Savannah; brothers Randy (Linda) Atkins of Rosendale, Ricky (Lori) Atkins of Rosendale , and Eugene Atkins of Fillmore; sister-in-law, Teryl Uehlin of St. Joseph; grandchildren, Kenny Atkins, Danny Atkins, Nate Atkins, Danielle Atkins, Faith Atkins, Ashlyn Atkins, and Hope Atkins and numerous nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by an infant sister, Diana Marie Atkins.

Family visitation and receiving hours will be Friday, November 1, 2019 from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm at Breit-Hawkins Funeral Home Savannah, MO. Funeral services will be 10:00 am Saturday, November 2, 2019 at Breit-Hawkins Funeral Home Savannah, MO.  Burial will be in Bennett Lane Cemetery, Savannah, MO. Memorials may be given to Flaming Spirit Christian Service Camp.
